ON MY DESK: The latest in Spring skincare from Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future powered by Ceramide, and Eight Hour cream, Rosehip by Essano, Evolu, Clinique, and O Cosmedics.
Flawless Future
We all know stress takes its toll on our minds, and bodies, and it’s the same for our skin. The first signs of skin ageing are actually accelerated by stress; up to ten years older than you should look. Flawless Future powered by Ceramide is the latest skincare release from Elizabeth Arden to return your skin to a radiant appearance when it’s been under stress. Their studies are showing incredible results – which of course is all that we all want – with consistent use, women reported visible improvements in skin radiance in less than a week, and after just six weeks, 9 out of 10 women saw an improvement in skin brightness and texture.
There are three gorgeous products in the range – and as usual all in luxury packaging you expect from Elizabeth Arden, with golden pump lids and clear bottles to show the pearl-like beads inside. The range includes a Caplet Serum, a daytime face cream Moisture Cream SPF 30, and an Eye Gel. The active formulation is a combination of their incredbly powerful, patented Ceramides joined by Telosense – a protective protein complex – and ingriedients aimed at brightening skin. I was curious how the pearl-like caplets in the serum would come out and it’s ingenius – they are crushed together as you pump, and the thick gel serum feels refreshing on and dries without feeling tight. The moisture cream is very rich and creamy to the touch and my skin lapped it up. I don’t know if you can see in the photo but the eye gel has a pearlised white tube that I love and a milky-white opaque eye gel inside which I have been patting on outer corners of my eyes. The range is available now at Elizabeth Arden counters
Eight Hour Cream Limited Edition Gold Collection
Check out the beautiful gold packaging – I love this! It looks and feels total luxury on your dressing table, and on your face. I think is the perfect present to give a lover of Eight Hour cream (and who isn’t?) It’s reasonably priced, a classic item, and it looks divine. The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant for dry chapped skin retails for $29 and the Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15 for $41.
Here’s a tip from Elizabeth Arden to update your makeup look for Spring: Gold eyes immediately take makeup into the new season. Mix gold eye shadow with a tiny dab of Eight Hour Cream to create a cream liner; to create a bespoke creamy gold shadow, simply add a touch more Eight Hour Cream and blend over the lids.
On counter from 20th October.
Evolu Rehydration Rescue Masque
I love those masks you can just ‘spray and walk away’ – i.e. put on and leave on overnight. They’re the easiest way ever to do the right thing by your skin and effectively feed it while you sleep and rinse off in the morning shower. This is a reformulation of the classic and much-loved Evolu overnight masque with a great looking new design and a new formulation too. It is a beautifully-nourishing overnight masque to restore dehydrated skin with Vinanza, Vitamins, proteins and Omega-6 fatty acids. It is gently fragranced with bergamot and sweet orange essential oils. It is available for $$54.99 at Farmers, Life Pharmacies, selected pharmacies and department stores and www.evolu.com
Rosehip by Essano
Essano has released four new products to their rosehip-based skincare range – the only rosehip range that’s available in New Zealand supermarkets. Pictured here is the new SPF Moisturiser $19.99, Nourishing Hand Creme $14.99, and Gentle Facial Exfoliator $14.99 and their certified organic Rosehip Oil in now available in a larger 45ml bottle retailing at $34.99. The range is sold at Countdown supermarkets nationwide.
Clinique bon voyage gift pack
Free with two items of skincare, the Clinique ‘bon voyage’ gift pack of skincare also has three items of makeup: a black eyeliner, an eyeshadow duo, and a pretty pink lipstick. It contains the skincare items Dramatically different Moisturizing Lotion 30ml, Repairwear Laser Focus 15ml, Repairwear Uplifting Firming Cream for skin types 2/3 7ml, Take the Day Off 50ml. The three makeup items I mentioned above are very useful ones with one each for lining, shadow, and lips: Beach Plum All about Shadow duo, Quickliner for Eyes Intense Black, and High Impact in Extreme Pink.
I was having a think about how this would have you sorted on a trip and that led to me thinking about the angle of all you’d need to add to make that happen. I would add: a foundation (or BB cream for lighter travel skin), a coral lipgloss, and a bright red lipstick for night, a black mascara and an eyebrow pencil. A love a simple holiday face of a slick of lippy, a bold eyeliner and fresh summer skin that’s well-moisturised. Total value of $229 and on counter at department stores and pharmacies from 29th October and Ballantynes from 22nd October.
O Cosmedics
First up: cute name – I always love a good pun. This range is so new – literally came across my path yesterday it’s so new here. It is a brand from Australia that combines active ingredients potent in anti-ageing with cosmetic science, claiming the highest concentration in a product short of an injectable. It primarily uses peptides as the actives with an exclusive V8 Peptide Complex to accelerate (the V8 does sound fast!) cell repair. O Cosmedics is animal cruelty-free and uses no parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, or colours. In the range are O Cosmedics Eye Fusion ($159) Antioxidant Hydra-Mist ($59), Exfoliating Cleanser, Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser, Pure Age Defiance Serum, and Immortal Cream. There is a Corrective Cleanser and Peel which is professional strength and not for sensitive skins so I’m ruled out there but it’s aimed at oily, congested, problem skins. The product I would most like to try myself is the Retinol Concentrate with the highest level of pure bioactive retinol allowed before a prescription level.
