ON MY DESK: New Spring 2014 Haircare
KERASTASE DISCIPLINE
What is it? Are you always lamenting that your hair doesn’t obey your commands and seems to have a will of its own? Well, the latest range from Kerastase, Discipline, is about well-disciplined hair that looks perfect and does exactly what you want it to do! The face of Discipline is Russian ballet dancer Diana Vishneva who knows more than a thing or two about discipline and elegance. With this ballet theme in mind, L’Oreal Paris NZ actually booked a troupe of ballet dancers to perform at the Kerastase 50th anniversary celebration at St Mathews in the City recently, which was a stunning sight!
There are three products in the anti-frizz haircare range- shampoo, conditioner and mask – and also anti-frizz styling products including a thermal heat spray for shine and control with 72 hours of frizz protection.

L’OREAL PARIS CASTING SUNKISS JELLY
What is it? Sunkiss Jelly is a clear jelly rather than a liquid hair dye that you leave in for gradual lightening for lighter blonde hair or highlights. I remember squirting lemon juice on my hair to do this at school, and later those spray-in lighteners that were pretty strong; this jelly has no ammonia. You can control where you want the lightening and do highlights or a balyage look through the ends of your ponytail.
How much is it? $13.99
Where can I get it? Selected pharmacies, Farmers, and The Warehouse.
OSIS+ Volume Up
What is it? A volume booster spray that still allows for natural movement of your hair whilst giving instant textured volume and weightless and flexible style control. Spray it lightly over hair and work into dry hair from a 30 cm distance. Use in short bursts for best results.
How much is it? Approx $29.
Where can I get it? At Schwarzkopf Professional salons. See www.schwarzkopf-professional.co.nz for more details.
SCHWARZKOPF LIVE ULTRABRIGHTS
What is it? This is an ammonia-free, intense wash-out hair colour that comes in very bright shades. It lasts for approximately 8 washes but this really varies depending on your original hair colour and porosity on how much colour it absorbs. You simply shampoo it in, leave for 5 to 30 minutes and rinse out. For long hair you may need to get two packs for good, even colour coverage that’s not patchy.
How much is it? It retails for $8.99 so it’s a cheap and cheerful way to get music festival hair or a summer holiday look. You could, with some skill, do just your ponytail for pink ends.
Where can I get it? It’s available from 13th October from department stores, supermarkets and pharmacies or see www.Facebook.com/schwarzkopfnz for more details.
MOROCCANOIL GLIMMER SHINE
What is it? A finishing product using the famous Moroccanoil argan oil for a beautiful shine result. This is another great anti-frizz product which will also help protect and nourish your hair. Mist it generously over dry hair for a shimmering glimmering finish!
How much is it? It retails for $45 for this 100ml spray bottle which goes a long way.
Where can I get it? At selected salons nationwide.
