It is incredibly scientific. This after all is a brand based on science. They even translated the discovery of the good health of sturgeon-eating fishermen into their famous Skin Caviar Eye Cream.
But, in a nutshell, it gives a power boost to the skin, it improves the function within the skin, and it improves tissue integrity i.e. in rebuilding skin.
A key ingredient in protecting skin’s mitochondria from free radical attack is Swiss Snow Algae, which is 60,000 years old (but of course doesn’t look a day over 35).
Red Grape stem cell components protect epidermal skin cells, a skin renewal peptide supports skin cell activity, and an exclusive cellular complex helps stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process with nutrients.
It starts off completely clear.
With a twist of the canister, the purple infusion comes up.
It’s all about energising; it’s a power boost to your skin – think charging your mobile phone – but at the cellular level, said Megan Poresna, La Prairie Trainer for New Zealand.
Fully mixed, it turns a milky shade. Apply two drops, twice a day, and the 4 bottles last for a month, using a bottle per week. They advise you use it just three times a year, not every month, as your skin doesn’t need to use it constantly.
Moet was the drop of choice – no cheap bubbly for this prestige brand that includes a Platinum Collection product which retails at $1750 of which one good customer bought two – they clearly don’t do recession. The Cellular Power Infusion retails at $760 for a month supply of four bottles.
This Cellular Power Infusion dwarfs the ice bucket of Moet – it would keep one going for more than 28 days!
La Prairie’s signature purple not only appears in the Cellular Power Infusion, but in the cupcakes at the launch.
