Here are new cleansers on the market, from a new men’s range, to gel washes aimed at twenty year olds, to gentle cleansing milks, to a battery-operated home spa – there’s something for everyone.
So come clean…
Olay Men
For the first time in Olay’s 50 years of treating women, they have released a range for men to fight the three male skin issues: oiliness, roughness and dullness.
My husband’s top pick was the Refreshing Gel Foaming Cleanser for normal to oily skin ($12.99)
Olay Men is available from major retailers and pharmacies from February 2011 priced at $12.99 for cleansers to $19.99 for moisturiser, toner and eye gel.
Trilogy Balancing Gel Cleanser
The idea behind Trilogy’s new, light products (150ml $41.90) is to start them young. The gel cleanser – and Energising Face Lotion – are aimed at women in their twenties rather than the usual thirties age group considered most concerned with the first signs of ageing.
It’s a soap-free daily face wash that keeps young complexions clean without being squeaky clean! No-one wants dryness.
It contains Elderberry and Comfrey to purify, organic Rosehip oil to moisturise and aloe vera to revive.
Dr.Hauschka Correct Cleansing Value Pack
Dr.Hauschka have released a handy pack to see you through the day, with Cleansing Cream for morning and Cleansing Milk for evening, at a value pack price of $79.00.
The pack has instructions for the Dr.Hauschka Press & Roll method of facial cleansing that encourages the lymph system’s cleaning functions. It basically involves pressing the cleansing cream into your skin – never scrubbing- starting at the forehead and then rolling your hands away from your face in a wave-like motion and repeating this movement down your face for 1-3 minutes.
Correct Cleansing Value Packs are available throughout March 2011 in a limited edition.
UltraSonic Cleansing System by Harmony Home Spa
You may have seen the UltraSonic Facial Cleansing Brush ($149.00) on the Good Morning TV show. It’s a hand-held brush head with a charging cradle, that you can use in the shower to massage and exfoliate skin. Its brush uses vibrating bristles, which oscillate at a sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second.
The concept is the same as any exfoliator – that you need to remove dead skin cells before your moisturisers will be effective – but this makes it easy and fast, and according to their claim, the brush will remove up to 6 times more make-up and twice as much dirt and oil than manual cleansing.
You use it for one minute per day to deep clean your face. Available from www.harmonyhomespa.co.nz
