Beauty Eds met at Ponsonby Central this week to hear what’s new and exciting from Trilogy, including a Line Smoothing Day Cream, and the switch from rosehip to a more potent, anti-oxidant-rich Rosapene…
There’s lots of news from the New Zealand natural skincare brand in its 11th year. Trilogy is rolling out its new packaging; clean white, grey and red with a horizontal line across the centre for the different ranges: red for rosehip-based ranges, grey for Age Proof white for all skin types.
They’ve also made the decision to have Natrue certification, largely to make it crystal clear to the customers that Trilogy is independently certified, in a market crowded with psuedo-natural skincare brands and green-washing. By the way, Trilogy is the first New Zealand skincare brand to get the Natrue natural cosmetics certification.
Last year they released the rosehip oil anti-oxidant Rosapene as a more powerful super-anti-oxidant replacing the standard rosehip oil. The reason Rosapene is even better, is that it’s a trademarked blend of cranberry, tomato, acai as well as rosehip.
The oil is their biggest seller – in fact at the Auckland Airport Trilogy store some overseas customers are buying twelve to twenty bottles at a go – but the Rosapene rosehip oil antioxidant is also in the Night Cream, Vital Moisturising Cream, Ultra Hydrating Face Cream, Balancing Face Lotion and Eye Contour Cream ($48.90, pictured below.)
Brand new to Trilogy is their first ever Line Smoothing Day Cream, launching late July, priced at $55.90. The day cream is light enough to wear under makeup and gives a subtle gleam to skin.
A botanical lightening cream targeting dark spots will be out in September, with hero product, Gigiwhite. Lightening products are huge in Asia and here are popular with our common skincare concerns of pigmentation and dark spots on the face. Trilogy recommend using the cream all over the face not just on the dark spots, to prevent any about to appear. Hair care has improved with the addition of a beautiful, natural foaming agent from coconut extract, and an artichoke extract with natural UV filters to stop coloured hair fading.
