As Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, we thought the time was right to look at new skincare and beauty releases with a rose theme.

You’ll be coming up roses with these gorgeous new rosy delights…

Smashbox ‘In Bloom’

First up, the bloomin’ beautiful Smashbox ‘In Bloom’ range, pictured on the model, left.

These are wearable to the nth degree; nudes and naturals for eyes in the eyeshadow palette ($87), a dark brown or heather grey powder eye liner ($46) to line eyes with, and incredibly useful lip gloss shades of soft pink (Timeless $47) and a high impact coral (Endless Kiss $47.)

Our pick: the Creamy Cheek Duo ($49) for a finger-applied natural-looking blush.

Trilogy and Orly

Get caught red handed this month as Trilogy teams up with nail lacquer legends Orly, to offer customers of specially marked 20ml Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil ($23.90) a free limited edition red nail polish.

They’ve called the colour ‘Trilogy red’ as it matches the Trilogy scarlet branding. It’s a lovely warm rich ruby red to suit everywoman.

Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Masque

Aimed at women over 30 – the stage our skin begins to lose its ability to retain moisture and regenerate- Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Masque ($41.90) encourages the skin’s own rejuvenation processes.

This is the age that most women realise they aren’t genetically blessed to live forever without wrinkles, the way we swan through our twenties. As it’s Weleda, it’s a nice, natural product and the Wild Rose collection is a great first-ageing range for minimal ageing signs. It contains high quality cold-pressed Wild Rose Seed Oil and Peach Kernel Oil to strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier and Marsh Mallow extract to soothe skin whilst improving the skin’s renewal process.

Apply generously to the face, neck and décolleté 1-2 times each week. Avoid the eye and lip areas. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Pat in traces or remove with moistened cotton wool pad and then rinse with lukewarm water.
