Not much has come out of Glenfield since Rachel Hunter.

But now, young Mum Kim Girbin has responded to her own needs for a low-priced, natural skincare range by launching her brand Kimi Organic.

With 100% plant based ingredients, and 95% certified organic ingredients, the New Zealand company – manufactured over the ditch in Australia – is also vegan registered.

Kim Girbin says she responded to her family’s need to reduce allergies and reactions, choosing ingredients for their toxin-free beneficial properties.

The initial range, launched at the end of July 2011, incorporates a Face Wash, Face Cream – actually more of a lotion than a cream in consistency – and Body Wash at $29 each and more products are to be added soon.

Thread likes:

That Kimi Organic has pledged as part of their campaign to Plant a Tree For Life in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest for every one of their products sold.
The delicate fragrance of peppermint and rose otto.
That ingredients are tracked from the field they are grown in to the shelf.

We found it hard to tell the difference between the products as they are the same colour, so different colour for each name, or a different emblem on each would be helpful. Especially for women who take off their glasses in the shower, or to wash their face. The Face Cream was quite light in texture.

The products come in 100ml sizes so they may be taken in-flight on planes, and at $29 per 100ml are between the Sukin Organics ($11 per 125ml), Olive Body Care ($17 per 100ml) and Living Nature ($42 per 100ml) and Trilogy ($27 per 100ml) price points.
