Have you heard of the toast, "Here’s mud in your eye"? I often think of it when I see mud packs designed to go around my eyes.

The old toast is a saying from the bible story of Jesus healing the man born blind by putting mud in his eyes and telling him to go wash it off in the Pool of Siloam. It became popularized in the World War I trenches when mud got in everything, including your food and drink.
