Antipodes Skincare launched their brand new mineral makeup over lunch at Blake St Cafe in Ponsonby – along with some very sexy new rock n’ roll natural lipsticks…
I love makeup. I also adore all things natural and using products that are good for me and my skin. So I was rapt to hear that the skincare brand Antipodes has launched into mineral makeup to join its fabulous line of skincare – which is the first New Zealand skincare to be sold at Selfridges.
The great thing about the new mineral powder foundation is its skin-improving qualities. After all, the best makeup is having great skin! It uses Vicenza Performance Plus to improve skin; an anti-aging formula of extracts from kiwifruit seeds and antioxidant-rich grape seeds.
The foundation comes in four shades – which apparently covers 90% of the market – pale pink, light yellow, medium beige, and tan. They cover redness well and can be layered for added coverage.
I tried light yellow, and I followed it with the gorgeous Skin-Brightening Mineral Finishing Powder which is a mattifying translucent powder; $46.90 each.
Iconic model Kylie Bax fronts the visual campaign for the new makeup.
Also at the launch, was the big reveal of the new lipsticks, all $34 each. Quite a departure from the dusky natural tones of the pinky browns in the original lipstick collection, these are vivid brights for maximum rock chick sex appeal. There’s an orange-red ‘April Sun in Cuba’, a fuschia pink ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’, and a deep rich red ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’.
