I am always on the lookout for great organic skincare products – but after trailing Nahaia Active Organics skincare, and meeting its founder Nahaia Russ, my search may have ended.
Can I just say at the outset I really, really like these products, and I could rave for ages about the ingredients, the accolades they have received, the results, etc. But there are two critical points for me that, without which all the other good points of these products would be rendered useless.
The first being that the products are formulated with only natural and organic ingredients of the highest quality with no nasties such as parabens, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours etc, and the second being that these products actually work – with clinical trials verifying their efficacy in skin repair, increased hydration, wrinkle reduction, and DNA protection.
Founder Nahaia Russ has spent 7 years perfecting these products – three years just researching and developing a unique preservative formulation which allows the products a shelf life of an amazing 3 – 4 yrs. Not content with just making products that felt or smelt nice, Nahaia was driven to create products that were not only pure and organic but potent and rivalled mainstream skincare. And from the rave reviews and results of trials it would appear she has reached that goal. Nahaia is a Naturopath, Medical Herbalist and Energy Healer and is clearly very passionate about her products and extremely knowledgeable about every ingredient that goes in them – and as a testament to what she has created she has amazing skin too (though she says her skin hasn’t always been that way)!
But wait, there is more to rave about – Nahaia Active Organics is made in NZ (actually in a lab by Nahaia herself) incorporate anti-ageing botanical extracts, food derived ingredients, phyto-nutritional ingredients including New Zealand native plants, herbals and quality organic oils. Products so natural they are “almost edible”, and contain substances that body recognizes as nutrients along with a ‘feel good’ philosophy, and micro vita shell essences of love.
To top it off Nahaia Active Organics is New Zealand’s first organic antiaging skincare.
I have tried many of her products and love them all. My skin felt so soft, pampered and amazing after using them all.
I enjoyed both the Grape Cleanse (normal-oily skin), and the amazing smelling Coconut Cream (Normal –Dry skin) cleansers.
Of particular interest to me were the Enzyme-Joy Renewal Exfoliant and the Ultra Fade Enzyme Moisturiser – both designed to brighten skin, even out tone and reduce liver spots, redness and pigmentation. Disappointed when they ran out I definitely noticed a difference in skin redness and would be keen to keep trying it for longer to see if my skin could clear even more.
Another stand out product is the Botrix-Me – a facelift in a jar! Proven by a double blind trial over three weeks to have significant anti wrinkle activity, this cream firms and significantly relaxes muscles for preventing and smoothing expression lines.
I loved the Sea-Me-Cleanse Energising Mask, while I used it as it came, Nahaia recommends also using it warm/hot as a facial – I imagine that would be absolute bliss. Like all the other products I tested my skin felt great afterwards.
Also worth a mention is Radiant-Light Serum, Intensive-C Renewal Moisturiser – a night-time treatment with anti –wrinkle and anti-aging properties, which also clarifies skin tone, and Liquid-Gold – a luxurious oil beneficial for skin repair and regeneration, dry skin, reducing lines and wrinkles and healing scars.
Overall I was more than impressed with these proudly NZ made products and by the passion and commitment of its founder. In my opinion they are definitely worth trying for organic afficionados and non-organic converts alike. They make your skin feel incredible and there is also something great about knowing that what you are putting on your skin is completely natural.
