Ageing can wait.
The beauty industry is divided over multipurpose products vs specialised products. Leading the way for one-stop, multi-use products, are the BB and CC creams.
In the other corner, are the problem-solving special-use products, such as anti-ageing, brightening and hyrating products.
Here are some of the latest in anti-ageing skincare products available now in New Zealand, ranging from bee venom, the scientific breakthroughs, and natural skincare. Serums are a popular choice in this market, as well as the more traditional night creams. Here we tell you about them, how much they are, where to buy, and what makes each one unique.
First up, bee venom.
KANU
Kanu is a New Zealand bee venom product created by HoneyLab researcher Shaun Holt and trademarked as Vetox.
Point of difference: I like the high-end classy packaging, and that no bees are harmed in the making of it – bee venom is gathered on a special landing pad. 90% of women saw a reduction in wrinkles within five days. I’m using it at night time and have had three women comment on my skin looking great.
How does it work? Proteins in bee venom cause a micro swelling in the skin which reduce fine lines. It’s immediate and powerful. It feels tight when you put it on but not uncomfortably so.
Price: $59 available online at www.kanubeevenom.com
Manuka Doctor Age-Defying Serum
I’ve used this in the night cream and now it’s available as a serum.
Point of difference: It was won the award two years running for best new brand at Cosmetic Executive Women UK 2013.
How does it work: This uses purified bee venom combined with UMF 18+ manuka honey and royal jelly to stimulte collagen production and elastin.
