Celebrity model Jaime Ridge is the face of Scarlett & Greene, a new range of New Zealand-made skincare basics aimed at teens, with all-natural ingredients free of parabens, mineral oils, silicones and fragrances.
Jaime, daughter of Sally Ridge and Mathew Ridge, is no stranger to modelling after taking to the catwalk at a young age at fashion week for her mother’s James & August underwear line. Now, she is fronting a brand by herself, and it’s another double barrelled name- Scarlett & Greene. The name itself evokes green philosophies with sustainability a key approach for the company.
The cleansers and moisturisers come in white plastic tubes with colourful Michael Parakowhai-esque koru frond artwork.
Our teenaged reviewer, Bella Hannah, rates it for us…
Packaging:
I love Scarlett & Greene’s packaging; it is modern, girly, kiwi and natural. As it is bright I would definitely be attracted to it on the shelves.
Rating: 8/10
Bare All – Breakout control wash ($27.95)
This was a lovely smooth wash that left my skin feeling soft. I loved how it was able to stop the breakout before it actually happened, kind of like a preventer. There wasn’t a strong smell that might overcome you , it was just a subtle honeyish scent. 8/10
Come Clean – Cleanser and makeup remover ($27.95)
I loved the creamy like texture that left my skin smooth and clear. It also removed makeup extremely well. And again, I loved how the scent wasn’t overpowering. 7/10
Under Cover – Natural moisturiser + SPF 15 ($25.95)
It was so easy to put on before school and bed. I loved how it didn’t feel “heavy” and how I didn’t need to put on sunscreen aswell which always feels greasy. 8/10
Overall:
I think this product is awesome for teenagers and I am glad it is a New Zealand made product. I think you should add an exfoliater to your range as it would be very natural and good for the skin.
