I always make more of a mess sorting out my room before it gets tidied. And so it is with my skin.

I get down and dirty – and end up steam cleaned- with a Dr.Hauschka clay facial at home.

Dr.Hauschka Facial Steam Bath ($58) opens the pores and dissolves skin-blocking impurities with a combination of daisy, nasturtium and witchhazel, which assist to support the skin’s natural processes of elimination. After steaming the application of Dr.Hauschka’s Cleansing Clay Mask ($69) -based on medicinal clay and enriched with nasturtium and witch hazel- binds to loosen dead skin cells, waste matter eliminated through the skin, and particles of grime.

First, mix 1 teaspoon of clay powder with 1 teaspoon of water. Set aside while you steam your pores.

Mix 2 tablespoons of Facial Steam Bath, a brown liquid smelling of herbs, which must be the witchhazel component, into a bowl containing 1 pint of boiling water.

The clay mask made quite a lot, more than I needed, so start with a small amount. It goes on like this

and dries like this and in ten minutes was ready.

The tightening action of the clay drying on the skin also assists to pull the impurities out of the skins pores. The result is a beautifully clear, smooth and radiant complexion.
