Thirteen is everything it is cracked up to be – and everything it isn’t.
You get more responsibility, a phone, friends, music and movies especially for you. But you also get more responsibility (who wants to look after their 8 year old brother), no credit, fake friends, crappy movies and worst of all bad skin and oily hair.
Your body ends up being a traitor to the glamorous girl/boy that you feel inside. Damn it.
So we have put a few products together that we (well – thirteen year old Madeleine) have road tested for you!
The new range Formula 10.0.6 has a clean modern look to it – and the four products we tried all worked really well. Our tester (Madeleine) doesn’t like girly highly perfumed products and really liked the fragrance on these products.
Her favourite was the Formula 10.0.6 Keep Me Clean Clarifying Facial Wipes. Great for when you are away, or are feeling particularly lazy and cant be bothered to wash your face. The Formula 10.0.6 Foaming Cleaners has a light fruity small to it – and works well in the shower. The Formula 10.0.6 Pore Strips worked really well – we haven’t seen any of those around for a while. The Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free moisturiser has aloe vera and bamboo and is light and easy to use.
If your skin is being a bit oily and out of control, you could try the Clearasil Ultra Pimples + Marks Wash and Mask. It works well as a wash, but we are not so sure about using it as a mask – don’t leave it on too long as it made the skin a little itchy. The Clearasil Pimples + Marks Lotion for clearing pimples is supposed to help with the appearance of marks left behind – and maybe we haven’t used it long enough to see that, but it certainly helps clear up pimples!
The Garnier Pure Active Anti-Spots Roll On at $13.99 is amazing! It rolls on a bit of concealer over the offending spot and also helps clear it up at the same time. It is small enough to fit in your bag and light enough not to noticed when you are wearing it. It is our pick of the bunch.
The whole oil hair thing isn’t too flash either. Dry shampoo is a great invention to help with that. We have been using the Fudge Urban Dry Shampoo and it worked great with short hair, particularly if you are allergic to showering too frequently. Perfect for the weekend away. The Fudge Urban Fixing Glue has a really strong hold and for short hair is just the thing. They are priced between $11.99 and $13.99. Our tester loved it!
