Clarins held a very elegant High Tea at the Langham’s Barolo to launch its skincare range Vital Light while giving a demonstration of the correct cleansing technique and some top tips over the cream tea and scones.
Vital Light – the anti-ageing skincare from Clarins – has been released in new formulas for every skin type, to restore the luminosity essential to skin’s youthful appearance.
The range is aimed at women from their late thirties to fifties who are showing damage from the sun and smoking but who are too young for Clarins’ Super Restorative range.
The range reduces the visible signs of hyperpigmentation, using botanicals known as ‘pioneer plants’ so-called as they grow in barren areas and help recreate biodiversity. Thus, these plants – Cochlearia offiinalis, Waltheria and Spergularia- are able to adapt and resist, and Clarins Laboratories have combined the plants’ revitalizing benefits in this skincare line.
Below: vital treats (not so light!)
The line-controlling, anti-ageing skincare line includes three products for day and two for night.
BDM Grange’s Megan – who trained as a prosthetic make-up artist and a facialist – demonstrated the correct cleansing techniques on colleague Louise, pictured below.
Megan recommended we don’t cleanse our face in the shower under hot water as it can age our face ten years! "When skin is pink, you’ve taken the acid mantle off the skin" she said.
Megan gave us many top tips for correct cleansing.
"Use a cotton bud for removing make-up from under the eye, rather than rubbing with a cotton pad" she said.
Use cleanser in an upward motion.
Make sure you rub cleanser in.
Do a ‘press massage’ for draining the face; touching around your face, pressing hands onto the skin.
Toners are not a gimmick. They make sure all remnants of make-up are removed.
Don’t put eye cream any higher than your orbital bone.
