Festival flair

Everyone changes into their night attire at dusk! says Madeleine Brighouse here with Ruby Frost at Parachute. Mostly there are just many variations on high-waisted shorts, singlet tops and jandals, or floral dresses, but definitely some really original dressers…

Madeleine Brighouse, our Thread teen blogger and Doc Marten’s Ambassador, is at Parachute bringing us the highlights of the festival. Pictured left: Madz and Ruby Frost a.k.a. Jane de Jong.

There are definitely some really original dressers, but Madz says that "Everyone changes into their night attire at dusk!

Mostly there are just many, many variations on high-waisted shorts, singlet tops and jandals, or floral dresses."

Read her highlights of Parachute here and check out her Day 1 Parachute fashion Street Chic story on Thread.co.nz here.

Below: Linike Blom is wearing a top from Valley Girls, shorts from Glassons, bag from Kmart and sneakers from The Warehouse.
Lene Bezuidenhout is wearing a top from Supre, her necklace was a gift, shorts from Wild Pair, Converse sneakers, and her bag is from Surfing Gear.

I loved the detail on the back of Lene’s top.

These girls were all on their way to the Ukelele Orchestra. Letitia Powell wears a dress from The Warehouse, Marrissa Powell wears a dress from Cotton On, Harriett Judd wears shorts from Dotti, Megan Crow wears shorts from Valley Girl, Olivia Henzell wears a dress from Glassons, and Kirsty Lewry wears a dress from Jay Jays. They are all from Wellington.

Marie wears an Oscar de Laurent scarf from an op shop, a tee-shirt from The Warehouse that she customized, shorts from Levi’s and sandals from an op shop.
Jenna wears a tee-shirt from a shop in Australia, skirt from Supre, sandals from an outlet shop, and her handbag is from an op shop. Her tee-shirt is the coolest!

Lucy McCrossin wears great purple Converse and I loved her Ray Bans.

Kim is wearing op shop finds, Megan is wearing a dress and waistcoat by one teaspoon, Mihi is wearing an opshop dress and a homemade cross, Erica is wearing a SportsGirl top and shorts from Hunter Gatherer (@parachute) and Rose is s top and cardy from an Op Shop, and shorts from Wild Pair.

Georgia Welsh-Stander is wearing everything from op shops except for her boots that come from Wild Pair.

Mariana wears a band tee-shirt, and jeans from Ironfist from the US. She had her hair specially done for Parachute – I loved it!
Lizaan also has a band tee-shirt, jeans from Jay Jays and sneakers from The Warehouse.

Holly is wearing a cardy from Glassons, tshirt from Mana, and shorts she made from an opshop pair. And of course DMs!!

Sam is wearing a tee-shirt from K Mart from Australia, and both his jeans and his bag are from Amazon. Dominic is wearing a jacket from River Island and shoes by Windsor Smith. Both of them he bought in London. His mum customized his jeans and his tee-shirt is from Jay Jays.

I am wearing a vintage dress by the Cuda Sisters from ‘Pleased To Meet You Boutique’ in St Kevin’s Arcade, jean shorts from Jay Jays, red striped tee-shirt by Top Shop, hat from Parachute, socks from the US and DMs.

I am with Jane de Jong from Ruby Frost! I love her. She had an amazing top on yesterday but I didn’t get a photo of her. But I am getting to see her sing tonight. That will be the last thing for Parachute 2011!
