"The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades…"
New Zealand’s top fashion editors and stylists gathered last Wednesday at Tyler St Garage in Auckland to preview the new Sunglass Hut and OPSM Spring/Summer collections.
It was a trying-on frenzy as guests laid their eyes on frames from Ray-Ban, Miu Miu, Prada, Persol and more.
It looks like summer is going to bright and outrageous, if these collections are anything to go by. Stand-out trends include fantastic tortoise variations from Miu Miu and Burberry, colour accents from Prada and Ray-Ban and heavy metal from Dolce & Gabbana.
Miu Miu pushed the boundaries in terms of shape with its look-at-me ‘Culte’ frame, which bears the shape of a star. Cats eye frames are still in the mix for Summer, as are perfectly round frames – as seen from Persol, Ray-Ban, Miu Miu and Prada.
