Auckland delivered a scorcher of a day at the Boxing Day Races. The Viva Lawn fashionistas took their job very seriously and Stacey Morrison did a knockout job as MC in her Sera Lilly ensemble and vintage was very victorious this Boxing Day…
Boxing Day Races has always been a fashionable favourite of mine. And 2010’s après-advent serving of delicious daylight delights certainly continued their predecessors high standard of dress and fun in the sun.
Auckland delivered a scorcher of a day, well fit for loosening the wallet for a flutter and celebrating the long summer ahead. The Viva Lawn fashionistas took their job very seriously. Even spectators could have given those competing a decent run for their money!

Stacey Morrison did a knockout job as MC in her Natalie Chan ensemble prompting the sweltering crowd to show their appreciation of those who dared to rock out with their frocks out. Including this wonderful woman, who put the ‘hot’ in Haute Couture.
I love that our media’s choice award winner was also the clear winner from the judges’ table too. This gorgeous green get-up was part of this lovely lady’s will inheritance, and vintage was very victorious this Boxing Day.

Also divine in vintage was our first lady of racing, Claire Hahn at the judges’ table, who was “Thrilled to see lots of lady like chic and elegant ensembles teamed with more structured and architectural head pieces. The standard just gets better and better with each event so I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing what the Mercedes Prix de Fashion has in store during Auckland Cup Week in March 2011.”
The judging panel was rounded out by renowned stylist Dan Ahwa, the lovely Amanda Linnell, Editor of NZ’s favourite fashion read, Viva, and main sponsor of this well-heeled and ever stylish event.
This gorgeous lady also stole my heart and my hat-envy for the day. Made by her fine self too. Love a kiwi gal that makes DIY fabulous (even if she is a milliner by trade!)

All in all a very fine day by all accounts, well-dressed, well-tressed and all attendees looking almost too hot to trot.
