I was lucky enough to be loaned the brand new Volkswagen Beetle to zoom around town in. I took it out to the Takapuna Markets today for a spin.

Earlier on, Volkswagen New Zealand launched the new Golf 7 and 21st Century Beetle – two classics reborn – at an intimate lunch for media at TriBeca. Thread was there to hear about the new cars, and see the Volkswagen Olympic ambassadors Alison Shanks and Simon van Velthooven.

It’s the ideal car for one or two people as it’s a two door car and perfect for parking with its helpful beeps and whistles to aid in parking. It looks super-stylish too and this white model goes with everything – especially if like me, you wear a lot of black.
