Bicester is an otherwise unremarkeable small town not unlike any other small town in Northamptonshire in the middle of England.
But its claim to fame is the retail heaven of Bicester Village, a modern-built reproduction collection of single storeyed designer stores with sale, sample and seconds and out of season stock from many UK and international brands.
Labels include the top-end luxury brands Gucci, Dior, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Zegna, Alexander McQueen and more where purchases can still run into the hundreds for coats and shoes, through to the High Street labels Karen Millen, All Saints, Jaegar, Clarks, and cheaper shops such as Accessorize where bargains can often be had for a pound.
I saw a few cheap accessories and deals on the day I visited. gifts at Cath Kidston include make up purses in her distinctive floral print for 4 pounds, shopper bags for ten, and an adorable child’s apron for six pounds.
At Wedgewood I loved the Beatrix Potter christening gifts and at Petit Bateau I got some adorable French baby wear for only 3.75! The deal of the deal however was a Ralph Lauren Kids floral cotton dress and pants set reduced from 57 pounds down to 6.97 – amazing.
Pictured below: with my haul.
Eurpean flair: The Dolce & Gabbana and Armani outlets.
The third Italian stallion: The Gucci outlet is always popular with shoppers.
And the French contingent of Yves Saint Laurent.
And below, more stock arriving in bags to refresh the shop shelves for more avid shoppers fresh off the train from London to this village of retail therapy in the English countryside.
