Wellington is smack bang in the middle of an amazing tulip season at the Botanical Gardens.
Tulips are two weeks earlier than their scheduled arrival. This could be due to a variety of factors including a mild winter.
Walking past the Botanical Gardens on the way to work it was impossible not to take some photos of these pretty dancing flowers. There are approximately 25,000 tulips in full bloom.
It’s hard to pick a favourite colour way from pure white to gold laced with dark purple. But the mix of pinks and purples set against the green stems steals your breath. You could stare at them for hours. They really dance.
Tulips can mean a number of things but the most general meanings are perfect love and a true passionate lover…there are 25,000 of them dancing now!
