Shopping Wellington

A recent trip to Wellington had me visiting favourite haunts and celebrating the latest spring fashion, says Cyndi Greep…

Old Bank Arcade is always full of fashion treasure including Ruby, Andrea Moore, Ricochet, Taylor, Minnie Cooper and Workshop.

I am loving the vintage-inspired Italian and William Morris-style fabrics Helen Cherry has used in her Summer range, pictured left.

I just had to capture the beauty of Marc Jacobs handbags in Workshop. I liked this one…

…until I spied this gorgeous apricot/pink sweetheart that their store manager sneaked my way.

Unity Collection had some lovely lace numbers by Carlson and a range of narrow belts in a range of muted tones.

Pearl is one store that always captures my romantic side with both the fabric (silk) and depth of colour. I loved the belts with Swarvoski crystals in the centre. These have become favourites with bridal parties.

A walk up Cuba Street was worth the walk for the brunch at Ernesto followed by a rummage through jewellery and accessories at one of the best design, fashion and art galleries around; Pixel Ink.

Bronze Bunny Head Pendant by Vaune Mason from Pixel Ink.

Below: Visit Olive cafe for lovely beetroot and hummus dips.

I picked up a lovely Antik Batik handbag at one of the second-hand stores on Cuba street, where you can choose from Ziggarut, Hunters and Collectors, Hatty’s Attic or Recycled Boutique.

Wellington is one place where the winds may change but the variety and quality of shopping remains.
