Every girl knows the power of accessories. Once upon a time, those accessories were something precious, something that carried historical worth as the heirlooms passed down through a family.

David Trubridge understands this notion of care and reverence when it comes to objects in our daily life. You may know his lights (or have one in your home), and you’ve probably seen his furniture (which was featured in the 100% PURE New Zealand campaign). What you may not know, but really should, is that he’s just launched a collection of jewellery.

Titled “Adorn”, the new collection takes its inspiration from the lights themselves. It translates the forms of Koura, Flax and Wing into delicate, intricate earrings, pendants and brooches. Hall marked cast silver, each piece is hand finished and produced here in New Zealand.

Funnily enough, this is not the first time David has delved into jewellery. Years ago, whilst sailing across the world on his boat, he made a series of delightful pieces for Linda, his wife. Epitomising the notion of cherished and rare, these pieces continue to be worn by her today.

This thoughtful, considered approach is evident in the new "Adorn" collection. Whether you fancy the beautiful, elongated crescents of the Wing earrings, or the simplicity of the Flax (silver $450), or Koura’s unusual, elegant lines, there is a luminous minimalism to these pieces which is lovely to behold (not to mention, wear). It goes back to the power of accessories – and these, in their gleaming, precious beauty, could easily become the modern woman’s heirloom.

Adorn availabe from today on the David Trubridge E-store at www.davidtrubridge.com
