Finch is the dream of Tanya Gordon and Phil Austen, a young couple working out of their home in Auckland, New Zealand. Tanya is a self confessed hoarder of anything old and interesting.
Never willing to throw anything away and with a serious lack of storage space, plans were made to recycle and restore to life the mountain of vintage fabrics. And so Finch was born!
Currently they are recycling old wool blankets into contemporary pillows.
Ranges include woodland creatures, kiwiana and nautical themed images.
They also work with discarded coffee sacks to make shoulder bags, hand bags and purses. Every bag is unique, retaining the original prints from the coffee sack and their country of origin.
Finch is still a fledgling, not yet a year old and orders are already swarming in locally and from around the globe.
