This is the most fun launch of a vacuum EVER! With drag queens and champagne, we gathered at The Elbow Room in Herne Bay to witness Electrolux’s most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner, Electrolux Ultrapower.

You may well ask, how does one launch a vacuum cleaner creatively? Well The Generalist PR took it to a whole new level when we walked in and saw Tess and Venus Mantrap in pink fluffy robes with fans offering us champagne.

But the best was yet to come! To a soundtrack of Queen’s I want to Break Free’, which has taken vacuuming to an art form in its classic music video with Freddie Mercury vacuuming as a Coro-esque housewife, the performers danced with the Ultrapower cleaners and even did air guitar! It was hilarious, and well done on Electrolux for having the good sense of fun to present it with such good humour.

You see, the Ultrapower is very, very stylish. it lets you ‘break free’ literally, as it has a 24V power pack (termed a ‘Eighties mobile phone’ by the GM, Alan Dalton; funny!) inside that you can replace every year or two and you don’t need to recharge it on a power stand as per the earlier models. It runs for 50 minutes (not that I’d vacuum for that long) and a cutter inside removes entwined hair.

Thread’s pick is the stylish clear blue.

The Electrolux Ultrapower Vacuum retails for $499.00 and is available at all leading appliance retailers. For further information visit www.electroluxvaccuums.com
