Auckland children’s fashion label Buttonlove has released the cutest new styles for Winter 2012 from designer and mother Cat Fawcett, including bomber jackets, berets and skinny jeans.
Cat Fawcett designs and has her garments made up locally in New Zealand, with quality fabrics a big focus in the kids’ line. She lives in Mt Albert, Auckland with husband Greg and 2 year-old daughter Charlie (pictured left in the beret) and their family dog Marley.
What’s she inspired by this season?
“The inspiration for this collection came directly from the feedback I receive from mums and dads, as well as what I love to see on babies and toddlers" Cat says.
"I imagine “what would I want to wear that if I was small?’” says Cat.
“I love big ideas and designing the collections, but as the label grows I understand exactly what it is parents want – mix and match, practical pieces that hold their shape wash after wash. Ultimately, it’s all about your little one looking stylish and feeling comfortable.”
Style this Winter at Buttonlove include things we’d also want to wear ourselves: a fully lined wool coat, a bomber jacket, merino cardis, skinny jeans, merino dresses and skirts, hoodies, a beret, merino leggings. There’s also the signature button printed tees the label is known for.
What colours are hot this season for kids? Cat favours a shot of hot colour with bright pink, as well as navy blue, neutrals black and grey marle, and detailing in rosettes, stripes, frills and buttons.
