Fashion designer Collette Dinnigan has designed a line of lingerie – Collette by Collette Dinnigan – with ‘Designer style, affordable luxury’ in mind, to be sold at selected Farmers stores in NZ.
Like fellow Aussie Elle Macpherson with her Intimates line through Bendon, Collette has designed a premium brand with luxurious laces and fabric. Prices are more in line with Bendon than with the higher priced Elle range though, with Collette’s bras priced from $49 to $59, briefs $19 to $29 and chemises $59 to $79, in a size range 10B to 16DD.
Collette by Collette Dinnigan follows her fashion clothing range with a feminine sensibility and saucy sweet nothings in floral, polka-dot and animal prints all with a vintage feel. Dita von Teese would love it, then.
“There has been an enormous amount of attention to detail in the construction of each garment. Luxurious silk chiffon and French lace are complemented by details such as hand-stitched rosettes, bows and delicate embroidery,” says New Zealand-trained Collette.

“The range is inspired by my travels around the world – I collected inspiration from beautiful fabrics found from antique markets in France, china teacups with intricate patterns and pieces of delicately embossed wallpaper. Many influences combined to deliver the final vintage-inspired looks.”
Collette insists each item in the range has been designed for everyday use. “There’s no need to save gorgeous lingerie for a special occasion or intimate moments. The range is designed for maximum comfort whilst still remaining sexy, functional and stylish,” says Collette.
Lingerie is familiar territory for Collette. In 1990 when the Collette Dinnigan label was born, her delicate lace lingerie and slips were quickly snapped up by department stores around the world and in 1995 Collette became the first Australian to show a full-scale ready-to-wear collection in Paris.
Collette by Collette Dinnigan is exclusively available in the following Farmers stores from 21 July 2010: St Lukes, Lambton Quay, The Base, Riccarton, Albany Westfield, Cuba St, Queen St, Newmarket, Shore City, Queensgate, Dunedin, Botany Downs, Palmerston North, Hamilton, Colombo St, Rotorua, Richmond, Blenheim, Nelson, Northlands, Bayfair, Tauranga, Taupo, Invercargill, New Plymouth, Pakuranga, Kilbirnie, Eastgate, Shirley, West City, Manukau City, Glenfield.
