If you’re too chicken (except that would involve wearing yellow) to get into this summer’s colour blocking trend, I’d recommend starting with sunglasses, in hot shades. It’s Colour Blocking for Cowards.

So, here are some hot shades for bright futures…

The stunning Versace J Jones collection has been designed around muse January Jones, the Mad Men actress. Jones – and her sexpot character in 1950s hourglass clothing – inspired the new eyewear range with its retro fifties styling. The result is a glamorous, chic and sensual line with obvious references to cinema stars from its golden era.

Versace in red $640.

Below: the print campaign in black and white; tres film noir.

Sticking with red – and Italian designers – here are D&G frames in a gorgeous lipstick red, retailing for $370.

And Dolce & Gabbana in an acrylic aviator frame in purple priced at $500.

Think pink in these pretty Burberry shades for $415. The arms fold down in half!

From high fashion to stylish sportswear…

With Oakley, with their Blacklight Frogskins in orange with pink lenses.

Another bright specs – again from Oakley – this time in translucent red.

And Arnette in frosty gelato shades of blue…

…and mint green; the Arnette Blowout.
