The Bread and Butter Letter is unlike any other vintage store in Auckland, with its selection of top crafts, bottomless teapot for customer cuppas, free parking on Eden Terrace anda lower price point than most…
The Bread and Butter Letter is a new vintage clothing and handmade goods store opened on Wednesday 19th of January at 66 New North Road, Eden Terrace.
The two young women that are opening the store, Sarah Firmston and Rose Howcroft, say that it will be unlike the others.
"No other vintage clothing store in Auckland also sells homemade craft goods like jewellery, fashion accessories, stationery, toys, and homewares" says Rose.
"All these are designed and made by New Zealanders that are frequenters in the craft circle (Kraft Bomb, Auckland Vintage and Craft Fair, Cassette Number 9 Markets, etc)."
No other vintage store has their low price bracket. In most vintage stores in Auckland, it would be quite a bargain to find a quality something for less than $40, The Bread and Butter Letter’s average price is under $30.
No other vintage store has such good parking! The Bread and Butter Letter shares an onsite parking lot with up to ten parking spaces and is right next to a bus stop.
Rosie assures that no other vintage store will be as friendly and unpretentious. At The Bread and Butter Letter, there will be a bottomless teapot on offer to support their welcoming ethos and atmosphere.
The shop is also going to host regular craft evenings where fellow crafters can meet each other and learn or teach a new kind of craft.
"We’re doing this because we ultimately want to promote, encourage and to broaden the already buzzing Auckland craft and vintage community" say Rose and Sarah.
The Bread and Butter Letter is the brainchild of Sarah Firmston who was already renting the space, who later asked Rose Howcroft to join her vision as they both had similar taste and enthusiasm in vintage clothing.
The store held its opening party on Saturday the 15th of January with popular indie band, Artisan Guns, drinks, and baked goodies.
