Recently I moseyed on down to the wonderful world of Little Black Crown. For those of you that don’t know it, it is nestled right in the very back of St Kevin’s arcade off Auckland’s K Road. This shop is MEGA fantastic and is constantly Metro’s pick for one of top Auckland’s shops.
One of the many things I really like about this store is that they are big on supporting local designers (Cybele, Deborah Sweeney, Kathryn Wilson and Lonely Hearts – just to name a few NZ heavyweights.) This not only leaves you feeling like a kid in a candy store, but gives you the warm fuzzies because you are supporting local business.
My favourite pieces are:
For girls- Twentyseven names ‘Sinead lace dress’ in black. This little number is soooooo much cuteness, and I think a major staple piece this season. The collar, the crochet effect of the lace; all equals perfection (not to mention this dress can be worn with tights with a longsleeve top under it, great for transitioning into winter).
For guys- I loved the ‘The End’ tee by Katie Battersby. This is just plain casual cool and will be great for summer. Apparently this is the first line Little Black Crown has stocked from Battersby, and I think this is a label that will be really taking off.
My favourite accessory is this uber cute A.T.G ‘Polka Black Pack’. I saw it and was in love. Backpacks are coming back to your back with a vengeance, and I think this one has a chic quality that not many vintage looking ones have.
Little Black Crown is definitely one of the most unique shops in Auckland, and if you haven’t already been there I highly recommend you do!
