Catherine Fawcett, the Director and Designer of Buttonlove, has created a line of cute – but not cheesey – kidswear for babies to three years old…
I first came across Buttonlove at Mary’s Market while doing the old preggy shop for items to put away for my baby boy. I got him the most adorable blue hat with bear ears on it. He was even photographed wearing it in the Sunday papers back in June.
Now he’s on the outside, Buttonlove has a whole lot of options I can choose from – not just hats. There are toys, too, check out the adorable bunny softie pictured left, which lives on his bookcase in his bedroom.

About Buttonlove
A love of fashion, little people and doodling led Cat Fawcett to start a clothing label for babies and toddlers, all while she was pregnant with her first child.
Launched in 2008, Buttonlove is a range of clothing for children aged 0-3 years designed and made in New Zealand, it’s full of super cute pieces that are original as well as functional.
Originally from Dunedin, Cat studied ballet at the Dunedin School of Ballet and later at The National Ballet School in Christchurch, but her career as a ballerina was cut short due to a knee injury.
She designs all the clothes herself; starting with sketches which are inspired by watching her daughter Charlie play, play dates with other children and chatting with other mums and dads. Once she has finalised the concepts and the patterns are developed by a local patternmaker, the range is made right here in New Zealand.
Cat picks quality materials and fabrics that are durable and contemporary and include vintage designs and New Zealand merino wool. Each range is simple yet stylish and can be mixed and matched. She’s also determined to keep the label New Zealand made to ensure its exclusivity.
Buttonlove is stocked nationwide and sold online at www.buttonlove.co.nz.
Cat lives in Mt Albert, Auckland with fiancé Greg and 2 year-old Charlie.
