Day 1 New Zealand Fashion Week KAHURIA 2023 – It’s so good to be back!
After three years, NZFW is back and onsite again at Viaduct Events Centre on Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. It’s on from Tuesday 28th August to Sunday 3rd September with a variety of trade shows, in-season shows, and informative fashion industry lectures. This year feels quite different with a new owner and new ways of doing things, and also selling tickets to the public for designer’s shows as well as to the in-season Resene shows. I especially enjoyed the improved diversity of size and cultural diversity on the runways. Also – the coffee bar for delegates on level 1 was a huge hit. It literally kept me fuelled all day long.
What I Wore Today: A nice fisherman took my outfit pic on Wynyard Quarter wharf so I am calling this one, Fishin Week; haha – cannot resist a good pun. I’m wearing a vintage Ralston NZ blue patterned chiffon dress from Hospice Birkenhead opshop and Liberty of London head scarf and Kathryn Wilson shoes.

Fashion icon, Kate Sylvester, who has already committed to participating in New Zealand Fashion Week, this year is supporting the new format. Says Sylvester, “We are very excited to celebrate our 30-year milestone as part of New Zealand Fashion Week and be part of the relaunch of such an important event for our industry. Fashion Week has played a significant role in our brand history and brought to life some of our most iconic runway shows.”
8.30pm Nom*d Presents Au Courant

NOM*d Au Courant, Summer 23 release party.
Last night was a depiction of a cultural event at its finest. A sea of creatives, friends, family, fellow designers, media and long-term collaborators all turned out en masse to welcome and view the Au Courant film conceptualized and filmed by long-time NOM*d friends and collaborators Richard Shaw and Iain Frengley.
