Designer Lisani Lennox, 37, has had a varied career leading her into fashion.
She worked in the Scenic Art Department of TVNZ in the 1990s, which led her to enrol in Textile and Costume Design courses at the Auckland Technical Institute (now AUT), then a job at an Auckland boutique fabric wholesaler for more than a decade, working closely with leading New Zealand and Australian designers to source – and in some cases create – exclusive fabrics.
No stranger to the fashion industry, Lisani gained valuable insight and experience, and, following the birth of her second child and wanting to do someting creative, she began fabric designing for clients and created her own small line featuring her graphic designs.
Now, inspired by her much-admired grandmother Betty, Lisani has launched her Ready to Wear collection, Lennox AW 2012.

Worn with the Into The Parlour jersey, Starlet Skirt, and Evelyn scarf, the pale grey Betty Coat below is named for her Grandmother.
"Garment quality is very important to me, but I need to be practical too. I have two young sons so I can’t afford to be too precious. I aim for a "well turned out" look with a bit of attitude, humour and sexiness thrown in – more modern than trendy."
“I believe our clothing choices reflect how we’re feeling. With my AW 2012 collection, and in my work going forward, my hope is that women feel amazing, and a little bit more confident, when they slip on a Lennox garment.”
Appropriately the AW12 lookbook images pictured have been styled with a nod to the glamour of times past.

“Getting dressed mattered to my grandmother. It was an important part of her day – she didn’t just throw things on. She considered what she wore and took pride in being a lady.
Lennox AW 2012 will be available from February at more than 15 boutiques nationwide, including Repetoire, Simply Wonderful and Nu Dax. See www.lennox.co.nz for stockist info.
