Do Not Disturb is not a collection to be kept behind closed doors, despite its distinct NOM*d bite.

However behind closed doors is precisely where the infamous Dunedin brand has gone for their Autumn/Winter 2012 range, ‘Do Not Disturb’.

By delving into the world of murky, hidden places, NOM*d has drawn out a striking range consisting of oversized layers, intricate contrasts and subtle accents which complete the garments.

Sheer midi dresses, buttoned to the neck shirts and oversized drivers jackets nod to current trends, but for the most part Do Not Disturb stays true to the label’s unique style.

The distinctive shapes, drapery and signature details – leather edging, button detailing and chunky two-way zips – come alive in a sludgy colour palette of slate, army and nightshade.

The iconic horror print, done on black tees in a range of fluorescent colours, magnifies the tension between the immaculate and the horrific that this collection personifies.

It’s the immaculate that really takes centre stage however – with the likes of the grand coat, brassiere tee and sleepless skirt no doubt on the season’s most wanted list – although it’s almost impossible to choose favourites.

The ‘new oversized parka’, a roomy leather jacket with an oversized hood and rolled up sleeves, seems to sum up the collection; shroud what’s below but leave room for the imagination to grow.

Although inspiration was taken from the deep unknown, these pieces will not leave the wearer gaunt or lifeless. Full of character and personality, it’s more likely they’ll give life to most winter wardrobes this year.
