Dress for less

So why is it that we turn our noses up at companies who are trying to make fashion affordable? I am not saying that they are all doing a fabulous job at it, but Farmers, and The Warehouse are certainly starting to get some of it right…

I hate to say negative things about us Kiwis, but we can often be snobs. Fashion snobs.

I lived in London for many years, and it always used to fascinate me that the first place many New Zealanders wanted to go when staying with us, was where ever they could find label garments. They would be off to find Gucci, Prada or Ralph Lauren – high end labels (this was obviously before you could get it here – I am showing my age).

Now we are off to Topshop et al without realising that in the UK, these labels are the equivalent of Glassons and Supre. They are not fancy – but they make fashion VERY affordable and accessible to anyone.

So why is it, that we turn our noses up at companies who are trying to make fashion as affordable as possible? I am not saying that they are all doing a fabulous job at it, but Farmers, and The Warehouse are certainly starting to get some of it right. I thought we might pick out a few pieces that we like from the winter range at The Warehouse…
