A gem in the outer suburb of Berhampore Wellington is the workroom and store of Emma Wallace’s label Emma.
Emma Wallace has shown her label, ‘Emma’, at Air New Zealand Fashion Week in 2008 and ID Dunedin Fashion Week in 2009. Emma has steadily become a favourite label for women who love pretty, practical and well-designed fashion in quality fabrics.
The current winter 2010 collection is entitled, ‘elle voyage.’ Emma’s inspiration is “whirled with thoughts of travelling, near and far, real and imaginary, whilst listening to French songbird Melanie Pain.”
Emma says “A wee bit of French seduction has helped create this range."
The pieces can be added to your current wardrobe and worn all through the year as many of the garments produced are trans-seasonal such as the Francine Frill Neck Top, Terese Tank and Veronique Velveteen Shorts.
Our favourites include the Fabienne Frill Belted Coat and the Nanette Scoop Neck Knit Dress which comes in grey and chocolate.
Emma also has little treasures including badges, Holly Hobby bags, owls and belts. These are perfect for gifts but you need to get in quick as stock moves fast and these treats are picked up quickly.
Why do we love Emma? The designer understands a woman and her natural shape, fabrics are quality, pieces can be worn all year round, a lot of thought has gone into each garment within each collection, and each piece can be worn for day or evening wear.
