An exciting assortment of women’s eveningwear has already been seen on the runways. From exotic motifs to elegant embellishments, Fall 2014’s eveningwear trends are anything but simple.
Gown lengths are going to plummet on the floor and the most preferred length will show a hint of the knee, or all of it. Beading, sequins and other similar materials will cover the body of the gown, while the deep scoop necklines along with the sleeveless attire will provide enough room to flaunt that exquisite sapphire jewellery.
Here are some of the most popular eveningwear trends at the moment:
1. Dresses
Straight and fish silhouettes with fitted cuts have been the norm, with celebrities boasting V-shape and boat necklines as well as spaghetti straps. However, this year’s outfits will allow you to leave the baubles at home with satin frocks featuring a sequined and beaded neckline.

Multi-tasking dresses with a futuristic vibe and appliques that add a touch of romance while fitting your waistline will also be in vogue. Some of the dresses featuring thin satin fabrics will keep these embellished pieces ready for daywear as well. Below: Christian Dior Fall ready to wear 2014

2. Accessories
Tennis bracelets, an old favourite, are making a statement again, but the new trend is to wear two or more of them instead of one. They are the perfect companion for an evening dress and would even come in handy during a semi-formal soiree. The new styles include sapphire stones in cushion and princess cuts which make the bracelets subtle enough for a place despite the preference of other accessories. 2014 is also the time when the usual diamonds are being replaced by coloured sapphire in rings, earrings and pendants. The colored sapphire rings from Front Jewelers show that colourful sapphires come in both classic and contemporary styles, and when sapphire stones are accentuated with other precious metals such as black and white gold or certified diamonds, they become a dazzling accessory selection.
3. Footwear
Several options are available when it comes to footwear, starting from slingbacks. These high heel sandals come in choices with glittering rhinestones sweeping through to the vamp and the same material embellishing the sole of the shoes as well. Another elegant option is the adjustable sling-back pointed-toe shoes that feature a buckle and bands of gems decorated with the use of rhinestones through the instep. Also, silver, gold and velvet will be seen in evening footwear. For the tootsies, strapped sandals with shoes are going to be an ideal option, while plush velvet pumps are making a comeback not only because of their formal appeal, but also due to their compatibility with informal wear like jeans.

4. Hair and makeup
For a bold and bright look, you can go for a red lipstick that sets off the fire alarm. An electric blue eye liner will complement the fire red pout and it’s going to look great on a black evening gown. Defined brows will add much more appeal to the overall look instead of overplucked.

For the hair, the sexy side part is preferable over fussy hairdos: curling a few pieces randomly using iron can enhance the look without overdoing the whole look. Another easy yet elegant option is the glam bun with hair pulled back and tied into a ponytail.
