Farmers showcased their new Spring Summer 2013/14 collections to media this week, in a gorgeously kitsch garden party – complete with gnomes, flamingos and live goldfish in a lily pond!
It was a great fun way to show off their colourful new summertime looks, across the key trends across suiting, petite, designer brands of VAMP and VSSP, Diana Ferrari shoes, and plus size ranges.
There was also a cardboard box installation with op art projected on the wall as they displayed monochrome fashion trends. Black and white and graphic prints were complemented by the 1960s instal with accessories stacked high on the cardboard boxes, designed especially by John Moffat of Three Six Oh.
Below: Urban Precinct striped peplum top $49.99, Whistle print dress $69.99, Jigsaw geometric dress $119.99.
Below: Xcesri monochrome jean belt $29.99, Le Specs Ziggy sunglasses $69.99. Bags and shoes by Ooh La La and Diana Ferrari.
Walking through to the next room, we left monochrome behind, and entered a room full of colour and crazy kitsch! Plastic fruit wrapped the clothing racks, with grassy turf and garden furniture bearing a retro afternoon tea, complete with Kiwi soft drink, Foxton Fizz, and raspberry Lamingtons.
Below: the designer brands Vamp and VSSP, previously the stuff of boutiques, are new arrivals at Farmers stores. The punched leather jacket below on the left manniquin is the priciest piece at Farmers, at $299.
