The stunning yet rather masculine venue of Propellerhead was made over with thousands of blooms this week, for the launch of new book, Flowers at Home.
Auckland interior stylist and familiar name to those who read NZ House & Garden and other magazines, Sandra Kaminski, has just released this beautiful book. Trelise Cooper so enjoyed the book that she wrote a touching foreword for it, and spoke about it on the launch evening.
Trelise said how a house has a change in energy once you put flowers in a room, and flowers don’t need to cost a lot of money to create a huge impact. Her own husband puts fresh flowers by her bedside every night – how romantic!
With a wide range of vases and settings, Sandra Kaminski demonstrates in the clear, beautifully-lit photographs (by photographer Geoff Hedley) how to transform a room and its mood through the use of flowers. I liked how Sandra describes flowers as having emotional soul.
At the launch we enjoyed Moet & Chandon Champagne and canapes inside her husband’s workplace Propellerhead – which Sandra has also designed to eyecatching effect – but the star of the night was the flowers, on every horizontal surface you could imagine, and a few more besides.
Get Flowers at Home and be inspired to bring flowers into your own life. It is $65 and is on sale at bookstores now.
