Focus on accessories

Yes, fashion is expensive. One way to mitigate this is to focus on accessories. Fashionable accessories trump clothing every time, so if the jeans and shirts cost too much, buy those second-hand and get the accessories as the real deal…

Fashion-forward teens are pushing limits and causing designers to think more about their latest designs. Teens have always been trendy, but it has become apparent that phenoms like Tavi are taking over the fashion world. Their imagination has become the must-have musing for collections. Children think up crazy things when they are little, so why not let their imagination take flight and influence the potentially linear fashion world?

Who cares about the cheaply-made trash bag looks, when teens are into the latest ready to wear collections from top designers and boutique names. Prada sunglasses appear on faces at school, while Versace shades are just as popular an accessory too. Forget the fakes too, teens can easily spot a fake L.V. bag from a city mile. So what does it mean to be a fashionable teen in an age where fashion is expected, instead of applauded? It’s okay to be fringe, retro and averse to the trends, but it’s not okay to not care at all.

Yes, fashion is expensive. And of course the fashion trends morph so quickly that there isn’t much wear or tear on an item before it hits the donation box.

One way to mitigate this is to focus on accessories. Fashionable accessories trump clothing every time, so if the jeans and shirts cost too much, buy those second-hand and get the accessories as the real deal. Sunglasses, necklaces and shoes are the most important and visible, and thus the highest return on your almighty dollar.
