If like me you’re a very ocassional runner (to the fridge, mostly), or a weekend runner, or even if you’re a marathon-runner, you will love adidas’ world-first cushioned shoe, BOOST.
adidas BOOST has a breakthrough technology in the cushioning material used. Traditionally, running shoes use EVA cushioning material (nothing to do with Eva Longoria) which detetiorates over time (about 800 kms) and you need to buy new shoes.
BOOST however uses solid granular material (TPU) that looks basically like white polystyrene and is incredibly bouncy. It will be just like new for 5000kms of running, and it gives back 85% of your energy into running (instead of 73& of EVA) making you faster and more efficient.

Below: adidas’ Rachel, herself a trained sports physio and now an adidas technical trainer, demonstrates the extra bounciness of BOOST material over traditional EVA.
BOOST shoes are available 1st March 2013 retailing for $220, with more styles and colourways being added to the range further down the track, no pun intended.
Got to run – see you later.
Below: Adam wears David Beckham for adidas tee and adidas colab jeans with BOOST shoes, and Rachel of adidas wears all adidas womenswear with BOOST.
I try the adidas BOOST on for size, pictured on a piece of the BOOST material. AMAZINGLY comfortable.
Rachel about to show us the BOOST bounce-back steel ball test on traditional running shoe cushioning material (left) and new BOOST material (right). Which ball will bounce back further?
And yes – it’s a clear win to the BOOST ball.
