The LG P500 smartphone, priced around $500 in New Zealand, runs on Android 2.2, Froyo, the latest edition of Google’s mobile platform.
Froyo allows for two to three times faster and smoother internet browsing, web-page loading, application pop-ups and multi-tasking.
What transpired is a smartphone that blends nice design with ease of use, making it the perfect entry point for prospective smartphone owners.
It’s a stylish phone – available in black which goes with anything – that you’d be happy to pull out of any handbag.
And of course, mine is showing the Thread.co.nz homepage, pictured below…
Features I liked:
Hard keys for its menu, home, back and search functions rather than touchscreen keys.
It comes loaded with Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps and so on.
It has a ‘pinch’ screen feature like the iPhone does on viewing photos.
The rubber back casing is comfortable to hold.
On the downside:
Its touchscreen is its hardest thing to use, sometimes you really have to push hard.
It can have a bit of a time lag.
The 3.0 megapixels camera is not the best camera phone; so don’t buy this phone to take photos with.
Conclusion:
The LG P500 is an ideal phone for starters to Android, looks fashionable, and if the camera isn’t your most important priority in choosing a phone, this is a really good phone for the price.
