In this "get the look" column we look at the effortless style of London It girl, Alexa Chung, who is now famous for her high-low mix of labels, wearing designer with vintage and High Street brands. It’s no wonder she has won British Style Icon three year’s running at the British Fashion Awards. Her style goes from boho and casual, festival-style, to red carpet glamour. It doesn’t hurt of course that she has legs like a gazelle and almond-shaped eyes.
Elements of her look include cut-off denim shorts worn with blazers, Peter Pan ‘cute’ collars with bows, polkadots, button-down shirts, and a ‘lady-like’ off-duty look. You can get Alexa Chung’s casual look by cutting off old jeans to make shorts, knotting a ribbon around the neck. teaming shirts with blazers, and accessorising with a slouchy bag and cool round glasses. Don’t be afraid to wear menswear items as womenswear. Wear a sweater with a pencil skirt.
She often favours ballet flats, clutch purses or slouchy, oversized bags – and of course has a Mulberry bag named after her – and quirky sunglasses.
Beauty-wise, wears winged black eyeliner, and popularised the ombre two-toned brunette hair look.
