My personal dream of a shoe wishing tree became reality at a High Tea this week where we got to tie our shoe pick to a magnolia tree and view Number One Shoes latest styles for Spring. The magnolia branches, vintage tea and punch, and Cloudy Bay bubbles were styled by the lovely Boh Runga in her venue at 1 Cross Street Newton for the media launch event on Wednesday with Starseed PR.
What’s new this season, you ask? Well, the two big trends filtering from the world of fashion to the world of footwear are monochrome and the global traveller. Black and white – either alone or together – was everywhere and the boho-chic style strengthened with Aztec printed uppers on shoes and ethnic prints.
Good news, too, if you still fancy lots of familiar styles you know and love, as plenty of them are still around this year. We’re seeing themes continuing in wedge sneakers, pops of neons, yes more studs still popular on shoes, and even some flatforms still coming through.
Brilliant news for those who shop from home; Number One Shoes launched their ecommerce site in July. The first drop of Spring shoes is currently on and more styles are being added weekly. Shop for shoes online at www.numberoneshoes.co.nz
