We chatted with Sarah Hutchings, owner of Orsini Fine Jewellery in Parnell Road, at the launch party instore on Thursday 17th November celebrating the arrival of the beautiful Pomellato jewellery brand from Italy to her showroom in Auckland.

The Orsini Fine Jewellery showroom at 241 Parnell Rd, opened 3 years ago after a career change for Sarah – from a background in midwifery, nursing and healthcare – following a trip to Europe in 2001 which renewed a long-held passion for fine jewellery.

Now, she selects the Italian 18kt gold and diamond jewellery from Italy for her store with incredible variety ranging from the small and delicate pieces to the large and eye-catching.

Sarah says the addition of the Pomellato brand fulfils her vision for the store. The brand, founded in 1967, specialises in prêt-à-porter jewellery, offering eye catching, yet wearable designs featuring precious and semi-precious stones.

She clearly has a passion for the store and for satisfying clients. She says sales are a mixture of women choosing for themselves, and men buying gifts for them, and she allows customers to exchange things that aren’t right, but that this hardly ever happens because she tries so hard to find out their likes and their style.
