Hailwood ‘Zora’ print

Adrian Hailwood is a New Zealand Fashion Week regular, as well as a widely respected designer (and an absolute honey). Hailwood prints are standout and as well as featuring them on seasonal collections, the designer offers them for sale as artworks via his online store. ‘Zara’ (width: 50.3cm, height: 64.8cm) is arguably the most romantic, though any of the four on offer would make an exquisite and enduring gift ($150). Available at www.hailwoodstore.co.nz

‘Fracas’ fragrance

Stella Tenant, Madonna, Kim Basinger, Carolina Herrera and Courtney Love have all named iconic, ultra-feminine ‘Fracas’ as one of their favourite fragrances. Created by Haute Couturier Robert Piguet (who trained Givenchy, Balmain and Dior), Fracas was launched in 1948 and is a white floral defined by its tuberose, long-lasting and intense. Lavish praise for Fracas abounds, but this from Italian blogger Nero Profumo sums it up wonderfully: “In a world where Mitsouko is considered the reference ‘chypre’ and Chanel No.5 the reference ‘aldehydic floral’, Fracas is the reference ‘tuberose’. A classic and slightly buttery…with a strong and ostentatious personality. Loud and a tad vulgar yet incredibly compelling.” It is $199 for 50ml Eau de Parfum available at WORLD Beauty www.worldbrand.co.nz

Matina Amanita ‘Cherry Bomb’ bracelet

Love doesn’t have to be too serious (and it’s sweeter than cherries). Made of gold-plated brass with charms, this Matina Amanita bracelet has quite the designer pedigree. Creator Matina Sukhahuta trained at top design schools Central St Martins and Parsons, and in addition to the Manita Amanita brand she designs ‘M.A. for Sretsis’ jewellery to accessorise her sister’s internationally successful collections. $285 with free shipping at shop.rubynz.com
