How about a bright colour on your nails this summer? I was intrigued to read in a TVNZ Business article (October 12th) that nail polish had replaced lipstick as the affordable indulgence in austere times.
Whilst I have never been over-endowed in the makeup budget department I have always tended toward the high end price tag believing that you get what you pay for. It seems however that I may have been misguided.
Rimmel London has re-launched its aptly named I Love Lasting Finish nail polish range with 10 shades inspired by the urban and trend setting streets of London.
I have been wearing #53 Apricot Punch ($7.99) for five days now and I have to say I am very impressed with the finish. Two coats of the polish provided great coverage with a strong true colour and despite washing the car sans gloves on the day I applied it the lasting finish has really held.
Here’s hoping they bring out more colours so the expensive brand I am more familiar with gets a run for its money, or in this case, mine.
Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish nail polish is available now from Farmers, Kmart and selected The Warehouse stores.
Artistic Colour Gloss
I had a hot shade of orange, shimmering with gold specks, applied at Magic Tan and Beauty in Remuera and it looks amazing. Created by Tom Bachik, one of the top manicurists in the world, Artistic Nail Design’s Colour Gloss Soak-Off Gel System promises up to 21 days of flawless nails. Love them!

FOXYGIRL Nail Wraps
Looking for do-it-yourself maximum impact for nails? Requiring very little preparation and even less skill I have just applied #99 Red Wave FOXYGIRL nail wraps and they are looking great.
The adhesive seems nice and strong and it was very easy to shape the foil to my nail. At $14.99 for 16 professional nail foils you could be wearing the latest designer nail art. Available direct from www.foxygirl.co.nz with over 100 designs to choose from.
