Designer Margi Robertson has created NOM*d’s A Raven’s Tale summer collection, inspired by an ebony bird morphing to an all?seeing bird’s eye view, with prints developed from her personal collection of vintage New Zealand souvenir scarves.
The scarves have inspired a sepia?toned print with ‘NOM*d ?land’ written alongside the typical Kiwi and other iconic New Zealand imagery. “The Souvenir Print was the perfect way to introduce the vintage element that is key to all of our collections without being too literal”, she says.
Artist Sam Robertson’s tee-shirt designs feature The Bird Man, Standoff Tee and Raven Tee.
It’s not all black though – there’s blood red, beige clay and Rice Paper, which are designed to be mixed, and layered up throughout.
“You can do so much with some really simple pieces such as the Blackbird dress – a simple shift with a touch of black fishnet,” says Robertson, “whilst the Momento jacket is a true mix up, a typical NOM*d piece where the layering has been done for you.”
