Sports and formalwear may not be two words you normally put next to each other – except at horse racing, of course – but Rodd & Gunn disproved the rule with their fashionable designs for our Olympic team.
In fact, TIME magazine rated it as one of the world’s best Olympic outfits. The main thing is as you know to beat the Aussies, and we did that by a country mile.
The 2012 formal uniforms were designed around the look worn by athletes the last time the Olympics were held in London in 1948, especially with the piping trim on the blazers which looks really smart and stylish to boot.
Rodd & Gunn hosted a lunch at Ellerslie Races on Saturday to celebrate our New Zealand Olympian athlete success. Thread was lucky enough to attend for lunch and drinks to meet our winning athletes, showcasing their medals in their Rodd & Gunn-designed formal wear.
