Osiris launched its summer collection of eyewear over lunch at The French Kitchen at French Cafe with their designer, Paris-based fashion designer, Jorgen Simonsen.
Jorgen Simonsen is completely fabulous. Basically, he has dressed every A-list celebrity from Madonna to Liz Taylor, and made the jungle print cleavage gown J-Lo wore to the Grammys in 2000.
Now, the top designer is creating fashion we can ALL wear; namely – eyewear. "The collection (of 60 glasses styles) is for people who dare to be different and are happy to make a statement with their glasses." Jorgen told Thread there will even be frames that follow fashion with leather and snake inserts on the arm.
His collections for Osiris (Specsavers’ stylish and top selling range) come into several key stories: Colour Pop, with layered acetates and accent colours; Frosted Hi-tech, inspired by the icy shades of Scandinavia (he was born in Denmark himself); and Super Translucent, with urban chic shapes in a nod to Phillipe Starck and modernism. The core wire and hinge are on display through the translucent frame.
